Obsessed with one card

I've mentioned Mike Wilks here on the blog before as well as some reasons why I started chasing the one particular card.  Well, over the holidays I was lucky enough to find another one of the copies in my dumb chase to get them all.  There are a few things that drew me to Mike.  He obviously was a grinder playing for I believe 9 teams.  He was rewarded with his efforts with a ring on the 05 Spurs.  He was recognized for sportsmanship while in the DLeague-I like that as well.  He also located in my hometown of Decatur, AL at one time.  So check this bad boy out:
This is one of the patch parallels with a beautiful 3 color patch-numbered to 50.  I believe this is my third patch.  The regular jersey version is #'d to 199.  I have ten of those 199.  There is also a tag man and logo man extremely limited parallels.  I love the look of this card and that it hasn't been easy to find!  If you happen upon any of the versions please keep me in mind!

That moment when

First of all-MERRY CHRISTMAS TO US ONE AND ALL!

Weird conditions today in Alabama with temps at 70 degrees and rampant flash flooding.  I did have the pleasure of spending the day with my somewhat new girlfriend at home.  It had come up before about me collecting and trading cards but today was that moment when I got to explain my hobby.

I had saved a handful of packages to open today(Thanks to Angus,SpastikMoos, Stealing Home, and Uncle Tiny).  In the process of unearthing the goodies(post to come soon) I explained to her that these were just goodies that were sent to me "just because".  I think it surprises folks that many of us trade and send like we do.  She asked me do I send stuff to people just because and I told her some times I do.  I told her that was going to be my focus this year and then I showed her the organization I've been working on.

Gonna be a fun 2016

JBF Returns

I hope this post finds you merry and full of good cheer.  Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy time with family and friends.  Hopefully many received cardboard I sent out recently-I have unexpectedly received some treats as well which I will save for the holidays.  Guess it pays to be nice!

I also wanted to take this opportunity to announce that in 2016 I will be returning to regularly scheduled JBF Programming and that means cardboard bombardment
As many of you know I did some cardboard restructuring and I will be going forward with a couple of renewed pursuits.  Just trying to keep it simple:  The Willinghammer, The Bringer of Rain, and pre 1969 vintage.  If you have any of those to dispose of then I'm your guy.

Look forward to bombing you in 2016!

A nod to UCF Brett and the Lost Collector

I'm really going to try to get caught up on these awesome Mailday posts this week.

Tonight lets take a look at some goodies sent my way from Brett and AJ

Brett is still adding to my Bravos auto collection which I'm going to hold onto tight:

AJ started off his trade package with an exciting note
I always smile when I get Bravos
AJ sent a couple of autos including one who started with BAMA
I do need this Willingham I DO!!!!  It was #'d to 170
This is an exquisite Beauty #'d to only ten!!!!   TEN!!!  Frickin Beautiful

Many Many Thanks to AJ and Brett for thinking of me!!  I have somethings put aside for both of you fine gentlemen!

Good Evening Friends!

Just wanted to check in and say Hello!  All is well here at the JBF Headquarters just lots of work and you know the everyday life getting in the way.

I still have quite a few packages I want to show off and also wanted to start highlighting my foray into the world of graded Desert Shield cards.

Lots of time recently has been sent sorting and getting stuff ready for COMC and ready for bulk selling as I look to drastically downsize.  I'd invite you to check me out on COMC, I'm very likely to accept almost any offers within reason.

Wishing you all well, just wanted to pop in and say Hi!

UCF drops some cardboard

My buddy Brett is under the weather and I hope he's feeling better!  Want to say Thank you for some cards UCF sent my way

Gary is always a great place to start
Can never have too much Mascot Action!   Triple Play was one of my favorite sets
 Don't forget the Hammer
 Some Bravos love
 Early Chippah!!
He wrapped it up with this sweet Glavine Manupitch!  Get well soon and Thanks again Brett!

A Pile from Schwood

Still catching up on some recent goodies.  This haul came from my buddy Jeff aka Schwood!

Woody sent a big pile of Les Expos!
 He didn't forget the Bravos
 Then he dropped the Willinghammer!
A huge stack of Autos!!  The Acetate was probably my fave

Thanks again for all these great cards Woody!  A few more packages to showcase and then it's onward toward the next chapter.

Arpsmith visits my mailbox

Adam was kind enough to send some very nice cards my way recently!  Let's check it out!

Hope all these Giants were duplicates!
 Some High End Autos
My favorites were these Leaf Signatures!  Definitely putting these to the side for a possible run later on at the set!
Thanks for all the great cards Adam!

A 2 on 1 attack from an International Tag Team

I once warred with Bob Walk the Plank and he received assistance from his French ally the Card Papoy.  They are both true cardboard gentlemen and I recently received awesomeness from both fellas.

First up was this package from Kevin at the Card Papoy:
A true rainbow of Bravos!!  Awesome mix!
 A stunning Minor autograph!
Kevin always finishes his attacks with a Bieb.  This one is rockin a Braves Cap

Great Scott!!! Matthew strikes again!  This time he sent two gems for my growing Donaldson collection!!!
The Topps Framed Donaldson is exquisite!! Love it!

Thank you both guys.  I will still keep you on my radar during my collecting transition...I'm never empty handed!

Some goodies from a couple of Dodger buddies

It's time to share some of these maildays before I move onto the next phase here at the jbf blog.

Today lets look at some cardboard shared from a couple of Dodger faithful!

Oscar from Stealing Home came to the plate with these goodies:
A little Tebow magic!  I wish he would've made it but hey some things just aren't meant to be.
 A nice mini relic
Oscar contributed a couple of autos to the Auto project which I have decided to move on from!  Still nice ink though!
This is one I know I'll be keepin!  Neshek always makes me smile!

Jim, aka GCRL, is no longer blogging but he is still trading and sending.  He dropped a nice load on me!
A very nice selection of Bravos
 Some mascots!
The Bringer of Rain!  I will still be on the lookout for his cards.  So if they need a home I'm still a taker as well as Josh Willinghams.
The first pair of IP Autos
 Round 2

 Laying on the Dodger ink!
Love the Leaf Signatures....One day I may chase this set!

 Loving these Braves Autos

My fave was definitely the Belliard!

Thank you both gentlemen for this awesome selection!
