Tribute

The cardboard blogging community had a very bright light recently announce it was dimming.  That blog is Bob Walk the Plank and the man with the secret sauce is Matthew Scott.  As with us all our time is at a premium and Bob Walk is doing what winners do-putting first things first.  You will be greatly missed in this community as you are a titan of generosity and a truly special ambassador for our hobby.  He will still be available to us all on Twitter and for that I am thankful.

I respect this guy and his decision immensely.  Farewell to a cardboard friend and brother! I hereby bestow top guy status to you Matthew!

For the rest of this week feel free to share a tribute to BWTP on this post.  I will pick a winner who will receive this

  1. I'll miss Matt's blog. His was one of the first I followed, and his Secret Santa was one of my first real forays into engaging with other bloggers and swapping cards. I hope his time is spent with wonderful experiences.

  2. Sad to see him step away from the blog, but I totally get it. I paid tribute to him in a post the other day.

  3. I will miss the blog as well. I do not remember if his was the first I followed, but I do know that once I saw the title of the blog, I was a follower. I enjoyed his posts and his attempts to best you in trade wars was epic but of course futile. Retiring to spend time with family is always a good reason to do so, but part of me thinks he's not done yet!

  4. Yeah - the secret santa was my first time buying/receiving from bloggers that I loved to read. It was so awesome of him to organize that for all of us. I'm glad he's still on Twitter!

  5. Just a great dude. Always stayed positive and put others first. Enjoyed seeing his posts about going to WVU games or some of his weekend excursions. He will be greatly missed in the blog world!

  6. Matt was one of the handful of bloggers I’ve met in person. Actually sent him an email with my thoughts. No need to put me in the contest drawing. I’ll leave this for the Griffey collectors

  7. No need to enter me either. Just wanted to say that I always said that "Bob Walk The Plank" was the best titled blog I'd ever seen. Hilarious and clever: Bob Walk-walk the plank-Pirates, I'd giggle every time I read. Very generous guy and a great blogger, will be missed for sure.

  8. I had just started beginning to trade with him. I always liked reading his new pickups, especially from you, and some of his unique perspective on players.

It may be the end of the blog, but not the end of my mail days to him

  9. Thanks for all the kind words guys. Blogging was always fun for me because of all the cool relationships. I'll still be around reading and on Twitter. Lets keep the trades going!

  10. It's always a sad day to hear about a fellow blogger stepping away... but Matt's decision to spend time with his family shows why he'll be missed so much. He's a class act. I decided to write a tribute that showed off another class act tied to the Pittsburgh Pirates organization:

  12. Matt is a collector's collector. His blog posts and trade packages showed just how much he enjoys collecting and helping others improve their collections. One of my favorites to read and trade with

  13. Watching you and Matt trade volleys has been a wonderful experience. He and I joined the Cardsphere right around the same time and he will be missed.
