Good day to all! Didn't intend to have an extended absence but I have started a new job and time is at a premium right now. I did want to drop in and award opportunity four of my clearinghouse sweepstakes! No scans today as my camera is out on loan. Just congratulations to the winner of the randomizer.......
Sam of Dimwit fame! He joins Josh D, Jafronius, & Backstop Cards in the field of 21.
Who will join them at the winners table? Opportunity five is up for grabs.
What do you know about Gary Redus? Leave a comment and you're in!

He finished his career with the Rangers.

All I know is he probably isn't related to Norman Reedus.
ReplyDeleteGood Call!
DeleteI know now more about Redus from reading previous comments than anything I knew prior. For instance, he is most likely not related to Norman Reedus.
ReplyDeleteLearning is fun.
DeleteI know that I have no idea what Redus looks like.
ReplyDeleteBe careful. You might get bipped.
DeleteI may have had a Topps card of his once but not anymore
ReplyDeleteTis a shame lol
DeleteLike most of the comments , i know NOTHING!!
ReplyDeleteGary Redus is fast. So fast that Usain Bolt has a Gary Redus poster on his wall.
DeleteI'm pretty sure I have some of his cards somewhere in a box far far away
ReplyDeleteYou should visit this Galaxy of cards far, far away.
DeleteHe played in the 80's... remember seeing him on cardboard from time to time.
ReplyDeleteHe was so fast, I'm surprised you could see him.
DeleteI know his first name was Gary.

ReplyDeleteGood Luck! May the Redus be with you!
DeleteWith very little effort, you could sing Gary Redus' name in place of Alan Brady's, and it would sound pretty frigging awesome:

G. Eugene, oh I remember him. I used to pull a bunch of his cards back in the junk wax days.
ReplyDeleteFirmly entrenched in the junk wax blender.
DeleteGreat season in 78, not much since.
ReplyDeleteHe was pretty good that year.
DeleteI know he must have the shortest wikipedia career summary of all time.
ReplyDeleteYou're the Redus SuperCollector.
ReplyDeleteI know nothing more.
That's the most important thing to know.

ReplyDeleteThe Facts of Life are all about youuuuuuuu
DeleteHe was a Red with his team's name embedded in his own. (Uh, does this mean I'm in on Opportunity 5 now? Thanks.)
ReplyDeleteYou better believe it!
DeleteCongrats on the new job! Is it at the Gary Redus Baseball Academy in Decatur, AL? That academy is all I know about what he is up to nowadays, don't know if that's full-time employment for him or if he's doing anything else.
ReplyDeleteLol. No I wish Bo! I think Gary mostly works with rising High Schoolers and helps out with a Little League in Decatur. I believe he was scouting a little but not sure if he still does.
DeleteHis last name sounds like "rebus" which is a word-play puzzle.
ReplyDeleteCame out of the gate hot with 17 dingers....
ReplyDeleteMy brother thought he would be the next Eric Davis. I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteI know that redus played for the reds, pirates, and rangers and maybe some other teams as well. His name also transforms into sugary red which I believe is what Marge schott called him.
ReplyDeleteI know that he is on my "shortlist" of players I look for when I go to shows and he's rarely an easy find.
ReplyDeleteRedus went to Calhoun Community College and Athens State University
ReplyDeleteI know he hit for cycle once and once stole 52 bases (S/O to Wikipedia)....other than that not much.
